My 8 week old baby does not like to be wrapped but then keeps knocking his dummy out

Thank you for your question regarding swaddling. This is a frequent question from parents with babies of this age. Swaddling can be a useful way to calm a child of 8 weeks as they feel secure. An early stage of learning to self soothe is by chewing fists or feeling hands at mouth. If you wish him to retain the dummy make sure the hands are kept down and wrapped. Unwrapped his startle reflex with disturb his rest.
