How much sleep does my 3-month old baby require? She is only sleeping about 8 hours a day.

Hi MyUserName

There is a lot of variation in the sleeping patterns between each individual baby and therefore it is important to remember that guidelines regarding how much sleep to expect from your baby can only be used as a rough guide. With that in mind, a typical three month old would often be sleeping around 16 hours per 24. A three to six month old baby would often be having 10 hours sleep overnight with feeds every 4 to 6 hours, and 3 day sleeps of 1 to 2.5 hours each. Babies this age are often ready to return to bed after 1.5 to 2.5 hours of awake time.
